Local Holiday Complex Gwel An Mor Petition

Visit of Gwel an Mor to Redruth Rugby on 18th August 2007

"We were very pleased to welcome Jenny Bowden, general manager of Gwel an Mor, to the recreation ground on Saturday, and offer our support for their planning application at Portreath. We have copies of their petition available in the clubhouse which members may sign if they wish."

Captain Craig Bonds and DoR David Penberthy with Jenny Bowden of GwelAnMor

"We feel it is an excellent project and can only bring benefits to the area, much needed employment (over 100 permanent jobs upon completion), increased tourism and affluence and the availability of tremendous new facilities for local people at special rates. Also it is pleasing to note that Gwel an Mor have taken great care to address ecological and environmental issues to ensure that any disruption is kept to the barest minimum. Very best wishes to Bill Haslam and his team for a successful outcome."

David Bone (chairman business team Redruth Rugby)

MURDOCH DAY SUCCESS

The Club would like to offer its thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday: the volunteers who gave up their time throughout the day, the players - and there were many - who attended, helped sell raffle tickets and hand out flyers, and to the townsfolk of Redruth who stopped by to say hello, bought something from the stall or signed up Membership for another year.

The town centre was packed, the weather was ideal, local DJ Freddy Zapp and the many live acts kept us entertained and Margaret Davies won the signed ball. Thanks to Katie Roberts-Clarke, Miss County of Cornwall, for stopping by to make the draw.

See you next year !!

Below some photos from the day:

Simon Peters, The Boss Man and Ben Fox with Wendy, Denise and Kim

It's a big thumbs up from Miss County of Cornwall
