Yesterday when I watched the team run out at Reading I was impressed with the atmosphere built up in the ground by the travelling supporters applauding the team onto the field. The whole team really appreciates the support given to them this season both home and away. We were beginning to wonder if the supporters would arrive after their magical mystery tour around Reading, but arrive they did and enjoyed the whole afternoon. Thank you to everybody who travelled.

It is difficult in preparing for a game like this as we stayed in Reading just four miles from the ground with a lot of time to kill on Saturday morning. Nigel kept the concentration with the team and when we left for the ground the attitude of the team was just right.

The game, I think, typified Reading

MOSELEY V REDRUTH Saturday March 4th 3pm

Posted under Match Previews by admin on Friday 25 February 2005 at 12:00 am

Redruth resume National League Two action next Saturday at Billesley, home of table-toppers Moseley.

Moseley will be seeking a Club record seventh consecutive win in this game, the Reds first ever trip to Birmingham, the home side having only lost twice this season, at Esher and Launceston. The Reds defence, second-best in the league, having conceded only 303 points and 32 tries, will need to be at its sharpest against a side who must now be odds-on favourites to be playing at Kenwyn next season rather than at the Rec or Polson. Moseley top the table on 81 points, having racked up 13 bonus points along the way.

Action from the home game in November which saw Moseley narrowly prevail.

A full Supporters coach will be leaving Cornwall at 7pm to add vocal backing to what will be a great day out for all, and the Club looks forward to seeing any Midlands Exile at the game.

David Penberthy will be previewing the match and highlighting other news from the Recreation Ground in his weekly comments on this site on Monday.

Redruth Under 14′s Travel to Ivybridge

Posted under Under 14's by admin on Sunday 20 February 2005 at 12:00 am

Travelling with 6 players short Redruth suffered their second defeat of the season to Ivybridge. Playing an unusual 3 half format, the Reds started well being 7-5 up in the first third from a Tom Simmons try, converted by Richard Kevern. In the second third Ivybridge scored the only try, against the run of play, to make the game 10-7. The Reds seemed to be on the wrong end of a lot of the referees whistle, which did seem to blow a lot in the match. Josh Matavesi made the score 12
