Elation is an understatement at this time! A great win yesterday at Lydney has really put us back in the hunt for honours at the end of the season. A superb team display, particularily in the 2nd half saw us get home by the narrowest of margins. I must be honest with a few minutes remaining I had this awful feeling of “deja vu” because we were in a similar position back in October at North Walsham, but we held out to gain a superb win. This was a game where there were no heroes, everyone worked for each other and the bench were absolutely outstanding when they took their places on the field. We did pick up one injury with Paul Edwards trapping a nerve in his back, but Paul Thirlby and Mark Harper came through unscathed. The next 3 games leading into Christmas are absolutely crucial and the focus has to be applied immediately. Once again our travelling support was great and hopefully they can make the trip to Old Pats in January…

A very polished first half performance saw us score 5 tries and secure the all important bonus point. An improved display by the visitors restricted us to only one try in the 2nd half but it was the sort of victory we needed to boost confidence prior to Saturday’s huge challenge at Lydney. Nathan Pedley continues his rise up the try scoring table with a well deserved hat trick taking his tally to 9 for the season. Neil Corin deservedly won the Man of the Match award with a good all round display. Newcomer Dan Goodwin looked impressive in the 20 minutes he had and with Mark Harper and Paul Thirlby both coming through the reserve team game, it looks as if we can select from a full squad (less Scrivs) on Saturday. Trips to the Forest of Dean are always difficult and this will be no different. Lydney have secured bonus points from virtually every game they have played this season and have only lost to Barking, a team that we should of beaten back in September. Training will be hard this week and team selection will be difficult. So if you are going to Lydney make plenty of noise and get behind the team, if we can get a result here we will be back in touch with the leaders….

back soon…

The Reds won this game on the back of a superb first half performance playing down the slope. In the first minute Rhys Gosling, on his first home appearance, kicked a penalty. Redruth were looking good with a strong scrum and a good driving game. From the lineout after ten minute Julian Hosking was driven over for the first try Gosling adding the conversion. Almost from the restart the Reds drove down field and Nathan Pedley raced in for his first try Gosling again adding the extras. Within ten minutes Pedley added another try again Gosling converting. Although in dominant mood the Reds couldn
