Another strong performance gave Redruth their first away win of the season, at Havant. An early penalty from Steve Larkins put Redruth in the lead only for Havant to come back with two penalties by Sid Claffey. The Redruth forwards then took control near the Havant line and they took the lead again with a try by Nathan Pascoe well converted by Larkins giving Redruth a halftime advantage of 10

On a rain sodden pitch Redruth entertained Devon visitors Ivybridge in a very entertaining game. The visitors opened strongly and deserved to take the lead in the 5th minute with a good try from Luke Martell. This was converted by impressive full back Adam Bradley. Redruth fought back bravely and good play by prop forwards Richard Abbott and Ben Gregor put the Reds in a good attacking position. Winger Michael Allen made ground and the ball was quickly recycled for Aaron Penberthy to put Kieron Thomas in space, he duly fed Damien Lynes who was tackled just short of the line. From the ensuing ruck powerful prop Abbott burrowed his way over for a fine try which Penberthy converted. From the restart Redruth went on the attack again and Penberthy was stopped just short of the line, the ball was won and was fed to Damien Lynes who drove powerfully for the line and scored, Penberthy added the extras to give Redruth a 14-7 lead at half time. The second half was fast and furious and both sides made big tackles and still played some excellent rugby. For Redruth Dean Bonds was impressive at full back, tom Richards worked hard at hooker and Penberthy was at the heart of everything the Reds did. Perhaps it was fitting that Penberthy rounded off the scoring with a fine individual try from a short penalty move and he added the extras to give Redruth a deserved 21-7 victory.
Redruth produced a fine team performance to gain revenge for the heavy loss at Basingstoke. They were a little slow to start and Basingstoke took an early lead from a penalty by Ian Calder who added another before a period of continuous pressure by Redruth lead to a try for Lewis Vinnecombe in the scoreboard corner picking up a kick across field from Bede Brown. The Redruth forwards were in great form and Neil Corin dominated the line out with Matt Grey
Making the first visit to the Recreation Ground, Ivybridge RFC proved to be a tough test for the reigning County and Bath Champions. Redruth knew they were in for a stiff test from a previous encounter with Ivybridge last season. For the first ten minutes it was honours even, with conditions less that ideal handling was always going to be a problem. Against the run of play Tom Hall broke free just inside the Reds half for the first try, converted by Alex Jeffery. Redruth struck back 3 minutes later with a well worked move from a scrum with Richard Kevern darting over to make the score 7 all at half time. The second half saw Redruth move the ball wider but the Ivybridge defence was stout, shutting the door on many occasions. After 8minutes Tom Simmons started and ended a piece of power play for the Reds with Richard Kevern converting the try. Ivybridge fought back and their man of the match Alex Jeffery proved to strong from 3 yards crashing over to make the scores level after a wonderful display of rugby. Ivybridge Coach and ex Redruth Colt, Andy Hall congratulated both teams on their rugby and said they were looking forward to more encounters with the Reds.
Second Match Report, as both Redruth and Ivybridge have such large squads they were able to have a second game. Another tough encounter saw Redruth take the lead through William Rundle, converted by Craig Johnson. Ivybridge levelled through Alex Jeffery, converted by William Worden. The match was looking as if it was going to end in another draw until Ivybridge’s Alex Jeffery made another powerful run breaking 3 tackles to score a wonderful try, to give this match to the visitors.
Redruth RFC Under 10′s will look good on and off the field thanks to sponsorship from 2 local businesses. Phil Tucker of Phil Tucker’s Carpet Installations kindly sponsored the squad with a complete set of Match Shirts. To look as sharp off the field Paul and Andy Vercoe of Drump Road Timber supplied Drill Tops for the squad. Chief coach Steve Datson thanked both businesses for their support.
