1950 - Redruth RFC 75th Anniversary

• End of petrol rationing
• Start of Korean war
• BBC transmits TV pictures across the Channel for the first time
• Less than half UK houses have an indoor bathroom

1975 - Redruth RFC 100th Anniversary

• Margaret Thatcher becomes leader of the Conservative Party
• Sculptor Barbara Hepworth dies in a fire at St Ives
• Racing driver Graham Hill killed in a plane crash
• First Oil from the North Sea comes ashore
